This item is cast iron. The notches at the bottom tell be that this is more than an odd ruler. It is not a protractor, as the markings on the curved edge do not match the angles of a protractor.
Does anyone know what this is intended to measure and how? Is it part of a scale, sextant or some sort of gauge? Or...? Thanks!
