It's a stainless steel butterfly knife I received from my mom after my father passed. I'm not interested in a price, he was a collector of knives, and I picked up that hobby on my own lol i was wondering about all the markings. I know they're only flowers but if you look close only the base flower has four petals, the rest have three. I was wondering where this knife came from,I know it was Pakistan or at least that's what's engraved on it, if it had any history to it, how old it may be and if there was any significance to flower thing. I think the handles are brass, 5 7/8 in length and a 1 3/8 width, the clip is 1 in in the dot and the blade is 4 5/8 roughly. I'm not the best with measuring it may a millimeter off. And like I said I have no intention of selling it or even wanting to know worth I could care less if it's 5$ or 5000000$ that doesn't matter me. The history is worth more to me than any amount so if anyone has any info that would be great. There are no markings other than the flowers and the two engravings I mentioned I checked quite throughly and couldn't find anything close to correct information and this seems to the place to come if that what you need and I definitely need help lol And I want to make this pertinently clear, I'm not looking for prices, or appraisals, I'm looking for history. A story behind it no matter how small because fact of the matter is, my dad's gone and he can't and I'm hoping someone out there can. Thanks for all your time and consideration, I appreciate it to the fullest :)

If you look closely you'll see that even the bottom flowers have three PETALS; but they also have two leaves which the other flowers do not have. This kind of sinuous "vine" element, with alternately branching leaves or flowers (or a snake with many branching heads, etc.), is a common pattern used throughout the Middle East to fill up empty space with a decorative design. The overall construction appears to be relatively recent: 1980s to present.
