this piece of glass is made in the Lauscha region of Germany, dating to the 1960's to 1980's. It is "mouth blown" in lampworking technique - which refers to the method that was used to make the piece.
The lampworking artist uses a rod to put a blob of molten glass on the end of a tube, and then "blows" into the tube and uses the rod to shape the piece. the red glas circles were blown separately, and added to the finished piece. It is a beautiful work of art, quite fragile and lightweighted...
i believe it is a piece by hubert koch even ihaven't been able to find a signature
