It could be French Jet, does it feel like leather or stone to the touch?

It seems that Jabob Bengel, made Jewellery for fabon fse Paris. His jewellery is very poplar and sells on Tadema gallery.

      Neat art deco brooch!

The marking is short saying for "Fabrication Française" aka made in France 725 isn't about the metal, but rather for the model number.

Jean asked for the right questions :-)
It doesn't look like leather, but is it glass, or a kind of plastic/bakelite? I think I see some blue translucent hue...
      To test:
apply on you lips, if feels cold : glass, if not : plastic.
Gently tap against your front tooth (if not yours, forget it!), cling is glass (or stone, but not this one!) Clock is plastic. :-D

Next lesson, tasting for testing, my fav trick, LOL

Keep us informed of the result :-))

This brooch is marked Fabon Fse Paris 725 depose. Good luck with your research

I just read Bengel exported to France around 1930 the mark making believe it was French fabrication!
Most of the descriptions I read too attributes the mark to Fabon, as if it was a maker (thinking of "signed" CHINA!) Lol!

So the 725 isn't a model number! They all have it...

Well I suppose it's been happening since time and memorial. Bengel jewellery is extremely popular at the moment, it's the in thing.

      Good afternoon ladies'
Thanks for all the info....The material in the center appears to be crackled leather and is actually two shades of blue when viewed in a strong light.

Early resin from 1920s-30s can get cracked from age and would resemble old leather, I would second the opinions voiced before and suggest you look into it some more.
