Any marks? I see the lighter is a "Silver Match". Some of those animal figural table lighters are made by some pretty famous makers. Can you take the lighter out and look for marks? And reorient your pictures. Add two more pics!

I didn't find any lion table lighters by Silver Match. No marks on the lion anywhere?

I found one very similar (exact, but it was shiny) on Google search on Etsy, but it was sold. I hate that Etsy images stay on Google, but the sold item does not remain on Etsy!

The Etsy one is from Japan, marked GAS (?) with a different type lighter in it. To me, it looks like a Reproduction of THIS one Matthias posted. THIS one has more detail.

The oneonEtsy is Pot Metal, you can tell on the broken tail part. The hole in his mouth would be if the head is hollow, it would be to vent it while being cast. I don't think the flame came out the mouth. HERS is marked JAPAN on the lighter part, NOT the lion itself.

Looks like the tail is broken off this one, too.

Great feedback! Best believe the first source I used to get some type of info was the internet, however as you have seen no real results. I also searched through some of my antique books and used the libraries resources. I can't find anything on this item. There is no maker mark and it doesn't look factory made--casted maybe, but most definitely refined after. I love it, but it has me perplexed.
