My boys are diggers! The bring me home all sorts of glass bottles, and this one got my attention, although I really dont know anything of its history, value etc. Any one have ANY clue?? The Faygo website in Detroit said that they only made the 7 oz in the 20's. Thats all I know
Any info on this bottle?
Does the bottle say faygo on it ? Bottles in the 20s sometimes have the date not on the bottom but on the very edge just before you get to the bottom.
i tried to call a number that was listed in your name that i found online, but not sure if it was you. i saw that you had a display at the canton library, but didnt get to see it soon enough. faygo conyacted me and wanted to buy it for $15, but not even sure what it was worth, i declined their offer. anyways to answer your question, the bottle does say "faygo" and under that it says "beverages". as for the number close to the bottom, i can see, which i didnt notice before, looks like 3 numbers, but the third number is chipped out, but i can see 89. there is a single, upper case "F" on the bottom. ps the number 89 something is right under the word "registered" Whadda ya think??
I have a 7 oz that is painted with the shield logo and that logo came out no earlier than the 40's, I suspect it is early 60's. So it's interesting that they said they only produced 7 oz in the 20's. I've seen bottles like this from Faygo produced in the teens.
Im on facebook Steven seiler Romulus mi.
I just found one of the Faygo bottles also in a Michigan woods today and is really an interesting find. This thread from 7 years is only reference I could find (not even on eBay). Says FAYGO BEVERAGES on one side with bottom edge CONTENTS 7 FL OZ. Other side has DETROIT MICH 0n other and bottom edge says REGISTERED. Very bottom a large F. Anyone know value?
