I believe my Grandmother got this set of dishes shortly after their marriage in 1939 in NW Indiana. They were hard working and frugal and I will wager these dishes were purchased inexpensively or even through a grocery store promo or something similar. There are 2 of each item in a beautiful cobalt blue, pale yellow, spruce green, and a maroon. (One yellow bowl is gone) includes creamer, sugar bowl and oval platter (11x8.25). 9" plates, 6" saucer, dessert plate, small bowl (1.25" deep). Teacups have angled handle with pattern on top of handle. All items have 3 bands of a "feathered" type pattern--long, thin "rectangle", top right corner rounded off, then curved as required to decorate edge of item. Nothing is marked. Plates, bowls have 3 dots on bottom from when the they rested on stands when fired. Cups have white ring. I would LOVE to know what these special-to-me dishes are (and where I could find a replacement bowl)

Hi, I thought at first "Fiesta Ware". Went and pulled a couple of my plates out, and yours are so much more stylish. Mine has no patterning like yours.
I would think yours are Art Deco. All od mine have makers stamps - and a shame yours don't.

Anyway, first of all do a google image search on fiesta/deco/feathered edges, and see what comes up.

You have some beautiful Deco dishes, classic styling, and lovely colours.

Like Gillian, my first thought was FiestaWare, which was mainly sold through Woolworth's, so your theory that these were five and dime store purchases could be correct, or could have been a giveaway or premium of some sort. They are beautiful! :)
