I love the raised/embossed image- Do not know much about the piece--Here is description of another I found-- Antique Jesus / Virgin of Guadalupe Sterling Medallion pendant.
One side features a splendid rendition of Christ's Anguish, with raised details of Jesus wearing the Crown of Thorns. On the other side it has the image of Mary, with angels crowning her head, and an angel holding her up. Written in Spanish "NS de Guadalupe rogad P. Nosotros", which translates roughly as "Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us" (with NS standing for "Nuestro Senora" or "Our lady", and P standing in for "para" or "for")
Any more information would be appreciated. This gorgeous silver medal is heavy and solid silver - thicker than a coin.
Circa late 1800 early 1900.
Sterling Silver unmarked but tested
Measures 1 1/2" diameter
Weighs about 30 grams.
