Mystery solved by CW's OlofZ. Mr. Wigley has not replied yet.
    _____________________________________________
I picked this up yesterday on my lunch hour during my rounds and within a couple hours decided I was going to the library to look for a book by Michael Wigley, & Mimi Sloane. Before I left work I googled it again and a site came up with a call option. So I hit the green button and Michael Wigley answered. He said he is the museum curator for the Santa Fe gallery and another one and was the executor of the estate of Eric Sloane. He said it was very unlikely this was an original to be found at a thrift store. I asked him if he wanted to see it and he said yes. Pictures have been sent.
Perts are very impressive about this artist. He certainly didn't put all of his eggs into one basket. It was a good read for me. But..Well Damn, do I ever feel like a looser. :) ;0;0 :)
I found a pic that was larger and very much like this one. But my virus ware won't let me post it. The board on the back measures 12"long and 10" top to bottom. Looks like this one has been cut to a very different size. Damage maybe?
Thanks for looking and I hope you like the post. :)

I'm wondering what a super, well made stone building like that with hardly any windows could be for in that setting ?

I hear ya, BB2! I think it is in Vermont, US. Eric Sloane has many paintings of the same barn. If only.........
      Thanks for the love. :)

Sorry, but it's photograph printed on a masonite board. You can see the raster graphics as circluar dots. Nice picture nevertheless.

OlofZ, thank you very much. I agree with Gruff 100%. I love knowing the truth about the things I pick. Good or not so good. ;) It's a blessing to have so many experts on here who actually know and are willing to share their knowledge. I need to do some homework on the raster graphics, because, I still don't get it.
Thank you again for your expert reply (Michael has not replied). Thanks for the love also.
Thanks for the nice comment and love, thegatherer.

I installed a new roof on a barn like that in Edgemont Pennsylvania 25 years ago It was home for egg laying chickens, pigs, and sheep. The barn still stands, but I don't know if they still have the livestock. I was told that the original owners lived in the barn with the animals until they were able to build a separate farm house.

I love this, it reminds me of home. My parents live so far out in the countryside they don't even get a cell signal, but it's still home. It's where I became an adult and where I met my husband! There's nothing like that home-sweet-home feeling. :)

      P.S.- thanks for the love!

Ron and Caitlin, thank you for sharing your memories looking at this post. Very interesting and nostalgic. It makes me want to be there.
Thanks for the loves to you both and : anna, and Vetra.
I have to add that I do not support buying/selling fake stuff but if you don't know the difference and make the effort to authenticate something from a thrift shop with no reply then you just enjoy it.:) Thanks everybody.
