My husband and I found this in a thrift store for $5. I immediately fell in love with the piece. The colors are gorgeous...my pictures don't do it justice. I'm curious if anyone knows anything about it? I've attached a pic of the only marking on it.
Looks to have more than just a little age to it. Always nice.
Gorgeous!! I would have snapped it up, too. I've never seen a plate with this design. The 7429 is probably the pattern/design number. The 29 might be the year. Porcelain isn't my best subject, so someone else who knows more should come along.
Thank you SpiritBear and Efesgirl!
Wasn't it after WW2 America required pieces to be marked with country of manufacture? (Don't quote me.) So doesn't that give it an 'up to' date?
It is interesting what one can find in a thrift shop. I found a circa 1868-1891 plate in one recently.
BTW, welcome to CW.
