C P B Co reads the monogram bordered by C. Pfeiffer Brewing Co. Detroit, Mich. U.S.A.

Pfeiffer was founded as Conrad Pfeiffer Beer in Detroit, Michigan, in 1889. In 1902 it changed to C. Pfeiffer Brewing Co. and then, about 1933, became Pfeiffer Brewing Co.
    They sold out in 1972.

The back seems to say Weyhing Bros. Mfg. Co. Detroit. They started in 1903.

So that gives us a date-range: 1903 to Prohibition, then after Prohibition to 1933.

But exactly what is it, and when is it from?

From the angle that the picture was taken, it's kind of hard to tell what that little hook-like thing is on the back of the button or pin.

I was trying to show the maker's name.

It looks like the 'hook-like thing' had been a little loop which snapped off from where it attached.

Sort of like a large button, then? My wife has a couple of heavy winter coats that have large buttons, each with a metal loop instead of holes. I have a blazer that also has buttons with metal loops instead of holes. So, I'm inclined to agree with Sean on this one. [;>)

It is smaller in diameter than the button I just compared it to on my Wrangler blue-jeans. It is hardly over half an inch across.

SB. You wanted a pic of my sugarbirds. I tagged a pic of 1 on my Wizard of Oz poste for you.

Looks like a button to me, too, SpiritBear. The company that produced that item doesn't say anything about buttons, they did make badges for police and fire, pins, awards, items like that. There's a FB page for them, you could ask there, maybe they can help. The articles I read say the building is as much a manufacturing plant as a museum:
