Know nothing about this ship. Got it for uber cheap at a yard sale. Very fine detail, what appears to be leather sails, wire cable, canon hatches that open and close. Just hopeful for some identification.

Hi. Just to let you know, your ship model is the Sovereign Of The Seas of 1637. This ship kit came from the 1933 "Popular Mechanics" magazine.
This magazine had a set of blueprints to build it and there were following issues with a series of blueprints to complete the model. There was a set of fittings you could order for it to.
This version was a combination of historical accuracy and folk art, when finished, it is a very beautiful model. I have one like it. There were quite a few of these ships built, but a lot of them were never finished. I have posted mine on show and tell in the fine arts area.
