I've seen a number of these salt & pepper sets, but most are described as purple, and are from Japan. These are brown and cream. I don't know if that was just another colourway they made in about the 1950s. These belong to my Mother-in-law, aged 103.

Yes definitely cute. Think they must have been bought for my husband's parents,as they have a Jersey, Channel Islands family link.Hence the cows.
