      1st glance & I thought gun sight. Then I looked at the tape. I'm waiting like you for an ID.

      This is a vice that one would find mounted on a large band saw or mechanical hacksaw. It has a quick release device for installing large size stock without having to screw the threaded handle in/out an excessive amount.

      Although this one looks old modern cutting machines still have them.
