Satan: a 31-foot Reticulated Python from the Edwards Animal Show.
Entered into Act of Congress statements are not often seen on postcards. Copyright took over in the early 1900s on postcards, albeit the Entered statement still lives on for a while on other items. They mean the same thing.
This one was Entered in 1898.
The undivided back points to pre-1907.
The real-photo also makes it more likely. So does the crudity of the piece (their type bounced and missed a letter).
But the "Cop. 1909" is the only thing I do not understand. In 1907, the backs of postcards became available for writing a message on. This one is not allowed to-- address only. So they provided a tiny space on front to write in.
I couldn't find much on the Edwards Bros. in Tacoma, Washington. So that does help.
Any collectors know? I'm hoping this is one of my oldest postcards.
