Picked this up here on during one of our holiday weekend garage sale days. It was either Memorial Day or Labor Day which is when we have a huge garage sale event even though most us don't have garages. It was either $2 or $5 that I paid for this I forget. Anyway this is punch set for metal working or some such. It is an alphabet set in a rather small font size a bit over 1/16th of an inch tall. Each metal rod is about 2 1/4" long. Looks like it is missing a few letters but I can't spell anyway.
The best part is the wood case. Has the interlocking edges where the sides are joined. Generally a good thing to see when looking for things of vintage age.
Could come in handy, I would think !
Something I've always wanted & never gotten.
Thank you very much Phil. You could be right.

They aren't actually antiques yet. I have the same set plus numbers 0 thru 9 in the same finger jointed box. I got mine for a similar price from the original owner who bought them post WWII. I have heated them and branded woodwork turned on a lathe and used them to stamp the frames of equipment like Table saws and generators. Very handy to have
Thank you very much fhrjr2. Vintage then. But then again perhaps they were making them like that for a few decades.
And thank you very much motorheadmn.
