I bought this about 7 years ago, outside an antiques and collectors fair. I just loved the colour. One of my friends said it looked like a copy of Lucie Rie. I would love to know who made this but can not decipher the marks.

Hi there...Try rubbing some ash over the mark ( just burn a small piece of paper in sink ) or something and take some ash from that and rub......See IF that helps to highlight the mark --- and post us another pic.

      Thanks...........and Welcome !!

Have added one with ash but truly don't think it helps

LOL....Thanks, but get some more and rub it on there to darken it up. It will come off .....or do a PENCIL RUB of the mark too as that is another way. Put some paper over the mark ( hold in place ) and rub a pencil over it to show the mark on a piece of paper..................................and if nothing else, try to draw a pic of it for us then.

Thanks, just some more suggestions. ;-)

Think I might be drawing LR!
Seriously, I will try to make a carbon rubbing. Thank you so much for your help. I wasn't able to add more pics or replacement. Any thoughts?

i think a pencil rubbing would work. can you take a picture of the whole piece, without the edges missing? this might be Lucie Rie.

You can edit the posting by clicking the edit button on the left of the page just below your name. Remove one or more of the pics already posted and add the newer ones.

As for the hallmark, you can also try rubbing cinnamon over the hallmark. I've also rubbed a soft pencil over the mark. You can also try taking the pics in different lights, or changing the effects of the photos.
