    have a pair of large cups with gold colored markings on the bottom. there is a slight difference in the markings on each cup.

      The marks are upside down. I looked through Gotheborg main and Satsuma, it's not there. I think it might be Satsuma, although it does not have the Satsuma mon, but there are a number of marks attributed to Satsuma which also do not. The bottom kanji is Zan or possibly Yama. I have a file of 26 marks ending in Zan, not there either. i know your cousin Fubar.

      I thought satsuma myself just couldnt find the same mark. I corrected the pics with the marks so they should by oriented correctly now. thanx for info and tell my cousin i said wassssupp!!

      My wife says both are read as AKIYAMA. Hope that helps. [;>)
