Just bought it, it was relisted 2 time and didn't sold for 49$... Got it for less than 20 :-)
Pics are those of the seller.
Tiny brooch, unmarked sterling, old clasp and hinge, turquoise.
The wire, balls and this rough look make me think of Mary Thew work...
Any opinion, Arts and Crafts specialists?
Anyway, it is not Navajo as the seller was thinking it could be, lol!
Hi Tango. Got no opinions (except to say it's nice) ~ just wanted to drop by and say hiya. [;>)
That's very kind :-)
Hiya too ! Thanks for your visit Nevada :-D
Thank you for your loves, Freiheit, Glassiegirl, Martika and Lou manual, merci !
Great pick! :) I think you're right with the A&C attribution
Lovely brooch :-)) the Turquoise matrix is a stunner. I see were your coming from with the wire and the silver ball work, it does have a look of Mary Thew, but I don't think it is.
BelleEpoque, you are way too rare here! :-)
Thanks a lot for your visit and opinion, very appreciated!
Jean! I have doubts too ;-) Thank you so much for your kind comment!
Huge collective thanks to all 14 lovers!
Many thanks for your lovely visit Gruff and Marga!
Thank you dear Valentino for your love!
Update: arrived, so there are new pics!
Thank you Roycroft for your sweet visit:-)
Really not sure on this one. There's not a piece of known Thew that's close enough for a confident attribution (that I know of).
Thank you so much Trey and Melanie for stopping by and leave a love!
Used to see a lot of things like yours here on the west coast ..back in the 60's and 70's the silversmith came from all over to sell their craft work on weekends.... I remember a lot of red corel .. jade and Turquoise as well a wealth of silver work buy the Indians from Arizona and states around Calif...and Mexico ...
yours seems to have some punk art style to it in my eyss,...but I never caught the fever for things like that ..seen like everyone always had some on then out there and some times to much on ,,..lol.... Good luck with your Quest.. '-))
