    This is the inside of my Bankers Utilities Co. Book Bank, showing the gym clip that helped FINALLY open it. You can see one leg of the clip going all the way through the lock and the other leg placed in the "non-movable" part of the lock. As so excellently explained at the link below, squeezing the legs together so the lower leg can turn clockwise in the key hole popped the top open! The lid is designed to be under pressure which you can see on the inside of the spine.

    It took a day of sleuthing to find this link, so I thought I'd share and save others some time to enjoy finding more boxes! My box is not in great shape but its been in the family for a long time. The cover is brown leather embossed with "Citizens and Southern National Bank, Atlanta, Georgia".

    I had no idea how many other beautiful ones were out there!
