I know it is metal and a clock. I can't really find any info on it. It's made by a clock company named Bucherer.

It occurred to me that you have more of a watch than a clock here. The "Bucherer" Company started off as a very high-end Jewelry Store in partnership with the founder of Rolex Brand Watches. Here's a website link with lots of information. If you haven't already browsed it, you may find it helpful and interesting: http://www.bucherer.com/en/company/history Hope it helps.
Good luck with your research. Really a cool piece, thanks for sharing.
No I still know nothing about the piece itself. I do know about the company after some research. My interest is in the piece itself not the company name. Thank you for the interest though. I find it very fascinating that I have something that seems to stump so many people .
Is it a mechanical clock or does it take batteries? Is that domed crystal glass or plastic? Looks to me to be a 1980s or 90s vintage die cast desk clock designed to look like a formula 1 ish race car.
