I have a Wonderod Spinning rod. This is what it is labeled. I bought it new in the early 1960s following college graduation when I was doing a lot of shoreline fishing from my canoe. It is a two piece white fiberglas rod which is 60 inches long from handle to tip. The patent number on the handle is US 2260204 which relates to the handle invented by Balz and Clicker. The Patents on the pole are US 2321717 and US 2749643 refer to the rod. I think it is in very good shape .. You haven't fished until you've landed a 2 foot Northern Pike with this rod...especially using a M2 silver Flatfish. I've even had fish follow that lure right up to the boat with that lure. Its on my collection wall as long as I can before I have to downsize. What is meant by the Howard process? What is the history of Flatfish lures? I know they go way back, too. There doesn't seem to be any markings on them or patents, so an old one and a new one are pretty much the same, except I think the old ones could have been made of wood. I really don't know what will happen to that rod when I pass on.
