This Rindskopf vase in their martelé decor stands just over 7" tall, and is in a classic Rindskopf shape. I have other vases in various decors in this shape, varying from 6" tall to 10.75" tall, and have seen versions up to 13"! What I like about this one, apart from the cool icy decor, is that while it is the same shape as the others, it has a nice twist to the middle, adding interest and light play. I have included my honeycomb version of this vase for comparison.

Each vase lovely in its own right! I think the designer chose well by adding the twist to the calmer décor.....the honeycomb version has plenty to say for itself as is :)

Both gorgeous Michelle. If I had to pick one for me it's the monochrome - so subtle.
(yeah yeah I know Japanese glass is rarely subtle, far from it, but I can still get it OK? lol)
Your photos do a great job of showing it off.

Karen, thank you so much for your kind comments! I have not been able to take photos of my vases where I usually do since January, so these were improvised on a stool - I am so glad they came out okay! :)

I think that this post is a fabulous example of the use of shapes to identify production that is common to multiple houses. Among the known makers of the Martelé decor are at least 4 houses, and where some can be readily identified such as this one through a known shape, we see others which in my opinion are attributed without any real supporting evidence.

Thanks Craig, I am glad you think so! You know, I keep a file of images of martelé pieces in identifiable Rindskopf shapes; I actually don't have all that many, and I do keep an eye out for them. I come across a lot of pieces that are in simpler forms and thus are hard for me to be sure of the maker.
