really stole this 1 . 22.50 shipped as a sole bidder. I was ready to go 50 if need be. these things have starting bids higher than that. bought it for my sons 21st birthday coming may 1st. im sure he will love it.
1 of the mounting legs is broken , but that's not to worry. most ive seen at auction , don't include a hanger at all. perhaps a lot of them have had this problem and been discarded. in any case.... I hope to extend my collection more in the way of franklin mint knives, but most are so high priced, I don't see myself buying many of them.
thanks Thomas.
id like to correct myself, again.
there are plenty of these with the wall hanger out there, but they still demand a much higher premium than I paid. there are also much cheaper replicas that are asking that same hi premium. buyers beware.. if its not marked fm, its not a franklin mint knife.
this knife is loaded with 24 kt gold accents. and antique pewter in the flag. it is the real deal at a real steal.
Every time I hear Robert E. Lee I think of the Johnny Horton song Battle of New Orleans.
I wouldn't use asking price or opening price as a gauge for values-- these SELL with some regularity on ebay at prices within the range of what you paid.
As with most created collectibles, they rarely retain their original sale prices and can be found on the second hand market at significantly lower prices.

good luck with that. scott.
good luck with what??

finding another of these for 22.50 shipped.
Nice knife, Andy. And that's coming from a Yank! That broken or missing mounting peg should be an easy fix. [;>)
thanks Nevada. already done. I usually post the knives in the condition that I receive them.
That will make a nice gift alright!! The start of an heirloom to hand down through generations will begin when you present it. Sweet!!
