Hi CW Gang:
My friend found this and they sent me pictures of it. They said they see no marks so I just have these pictures right now. I will get measurement and get some of my own pics and look around on it to see IF I can see any marks. I will keep you posted. So this is a Mystery as I know NOTHING about Banjos at all !!!
Stay TUNED.....LOL.
Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!!!

Nice. I would love to know how to play a banjo.
I've built 2 banjos and also know nothing about them. This is a 4 string & the 5 string seems to have taken off in N. Amer. early on. "The devil plays a 5 string". I searched St. Maarten looking for a 5 string player to play my last one & all I found were 4 string players (Europeans). Tuning & playing is entirely diff. between the 2 . I will be curious if you find any identifying marks.
PS: You would be a lot more likely to find 4 string banjos in Canada, eh.
Thanks for the ~ LOVES ~

.... Yes I will get over to my friends place in the next few day and take my camera. I will take a good look over it for any marks, size, and some close-up.
What is that Butterfly thing in the front called ? Anyone know?
That is a hand/wrist guard to protect the pot-head from dirt & wear from the player's arm. Fancier than most.
So the butterfly thing is just an Guard of sorts? Is there any special name to it
Found this diagram of *parts* of a Banjo. So might the butterfly thing be a ARMREST ?

Cool
I had to learn all about these.
This is a banjo and if it was a Little smaller it would be a banjo mandolin then the smaller is the mandolin
See I know something.
Love it.i was down in North Caroline last week and was thinking of the song they play in deliverance.
Great song but creepy........
Nice! I think the maker is "Starsun"
Or rather Starsun is the model. Bestler used to make this model. Could be a copy if you don't find any name.

I recently purchased a very similar Banjo in Guangzhou, China. In fact the butterfly hand rest is almost identical. The name Romance (R) is located both on the head and base of the neck.
The body also has cut away design on it's back, although mine has a different pattern..
I am trying to determine if the fret placement is accurate, as it produces an odd combination of scales.
