Hello, I will apologize firstly if I have put this vase in the wrong category.
This vase has come to me from my family.... it apparently belonged to my great grandmother. I know absolutely nothing about glass, and the only thing that I can offer up is that I have seen this shape listed as art nouveau.
Now this vase is 35cm high, some of the decoration appears to be enameled. To me, the symbols seem to be very busy all together..... I expected the meaning of them to somehow merge together.....but that hasn't worked for me!
One family member suggested that this vase was bought as a blank and then hand decorated at home.....would this be likely??
As you can guess I really need help here lol........would be most grateful to hear from anyone with your thoughts. Thanks.
Hi there, you can go in and edit your post to change things. Very pretty vase, looks European to me. Others will stop by and give you some other info. Thanks for posting !!
Thanks antiquerose, much appreciated. I must say that I wasn't particularly fond of it when I first received it.....but it is growing on me!!
It is sweet!! Plus I seem to have ended up with lots of PINK glass here that is posted, so how can I not love Pink !!
Thanks to all for the "loves"..... very kind of you!
Gorgeous Love the hand painted decor!
Thanks Shawnl86 for the love and appreciation of this piece!
Thanks so much everyone for the 11 loves.....much appreciated!!
This bulb vase, for a big bulb plant, seems to be done by a principiant but the enamel is as old as the vase. Probably it was done in the refinery for some one that was beginning to paint. Adore the bugs.
Hello kivatinitz. Thank you very much for this wonderful information, it is very helpful!
Bulb Vase......is this to sit a big bulb into the top section with water in the bottom section of the vase and then leave it there until the bulb flowers?
This info is so great......now I will have something to tell the family! Really appreciate you taking the time to tell me this.....thanks again, and for the love, regards Judy
EZa and Jenni, thanks very much for the love :-) )
