It's been a busy past few weeks getting my booth ready at the co-op. Lots of compliments about how nice everything is. This is where OCD comes in really handy....lol. So I've finally had some time to check out the other vendors and see what they have to offer. Waaaay too much temptation I might add. I've had my eye on some really nice Kralik and Welz pieces but this is the big leagues and prices are nothing like the thrifts ! They do have a layaway room though. Browsing around I did find this nice green 10 1/2" vase in the corner of my new friend Shirley's booth. Not sure if it's Italian Empoli or Czech. The squiggly ribbon of applied glass makes me think it's the later. Sort of "tango-ish" but not the typical orange or yellow. I did see this color green on 20th Century glass's site though... so maybe. This little exercise in my glass ID'ing only cost a ten spot so not too budget busting if it's not what I think it is. -Mike-
Thanks for the "loves" Nevada, Sklo, and Nice :)
Thanks Thomas for the "love" and the vote of confidence ! It's a bit of work to say the least but should be quite lucrative... in the long run...is that a song....lol :)
Thanks for the "loves" Ken, Kevin, Fort and Roy. :)
I can't help with the glass sorry Mike except reiterate my love of green glass.
The danger with your booth is you have cleared stuff, so will really really need to replace it!
Thanks Karen.....well replacing stuff is really no problem. I've restocked three times already and it still looks like I haven't even made a dent in what I have at home...lol. What I've learned is you have to keep it fresh and interesting at all times. People that visit daily will get bored very quickly of the same old things. Right now it's my Asian pieces. They have a very good customer and he's bought a few pieces of mine already. He's a retired Japanese language professor at the college as well as an appraiser. He's already told me I know my stuff so that's quite flattering. So far so good but there will be off days too where nothing sells. Been there done that...lol :)
Thanks for the"love" Alan :)
Thanks Martika, Kivatinitz, and Aura :)
I love you enthusiasm. You get it going mike!!
You do know your stuff Mike and always find great pieces so I imagine your booth stock is great quality.
Thanks OGF for the "love" and compliment. :)
Thanks Karen..I'd post some pictures but I don't want to break any rules regarding retail and advertising. It is a huge place though. I have to work there today...total newbie with their check out system. Training time...lol. :)
wish I were yhere to assist.
Will you take photos for us Mike?
Lovely vase. There was one up on ebay similar last week. I was tempted bar the white..... :)
