Can anyone identify this item found under the floor of my Victorian Vicarage?
A wooden stand with springs wooden fingers, designed to hold a squidgy candle like thing - which I presume is burnt.
Is it a fumigator of some kind?
    Regards,
    Danny

Height, please. Also, I have no idea what "squidgy" means. What is it made of?

It is about eight or ten inches tall.
The candle like thing is like a very soft candle - one can easily make an indent in it with a finger - that's what I man by squidgy.

Interesting. Much smaller than I imagined it. It looks like someone's idea of a "push-up" candle holder except that it would catch fire when the candle burned down! I guess tallow candles would be that soft.
