This is one of my new additions by Bernard Instone, he did not only make jewellery, he also made many other things including this caddy spoon. The whole spoon has been hand hammered, the handle is decorated with very detailed leaves and fruit, and hand cut out in between these. The spoon has a Birmingham hallmark, B.I for Bernard Instone and the letter C for the year 1927-28.
It's approx 81mm high, and 42mm at its widest point. The photo with the hallmarks, you can see very distinctive hammer marks.
Many thanks for looking.
Very lovely indeed. Looks brand new with the hallmarks so clear. Beautiful workmanship. I wonder what his workshop looked like?
A beautiful Sterling Silver spoon!

Hi Gillian I've put a link above which gives a little insight into his life. There is precious little information about him, a shame I would love to know more about Mr Instone :-(
I have bought another caddy spoon of his, I'm looking forward to seeing it and posting it on CW. Thank you for showing a interest in him :-)
Thank you Bonnie, for passing by and leaving your lovely comment.
