It's 7 inches tall and about 6 inches diameter at the base. I'd like to know more about it - maker, approx age, etc. if anyone recognizes it. Thank you!

      Welcome to CW.
This looks like a very special piece of either Art Nouveau or Arts & Crafts workmanship. (The two periods ran concurrently, I believe.)
The colour is magnificent, as are the flower motifs. Just simply one the loveliest things I've seen in a very, very long time.
It's also sitting on what looks like a very fine, rustic, beautiful and uncluttered table. To make it all even more beautiful are the flowers in the vase.
Congratulations - I hope someone will be able to come along soon and identify the vase for you, and be able to decipher the marks on the bottom.
Where did you find this vase? I'd better stop now - running out of adjectives to describe all this.

Well I believe that it has AUSTRIA / 1090 impressed on the bottom.
Art Nouveau was called Jugendstil in the Austro-Hungarian areas.
I'd be looking at some of the Austrian factories around Teplitz for a starting point.
