    There were only a handful of FM stations in the 1940's making these little receivers quite rare. You connected this to your furniture type AM radio and this would give you access to FM, even though there really wasn't much FM back in the 1940's and 1950's. A wee bit before it's time. The fact that nobody needed one made it quite rare.
