I found these while exploring in the bush. The area is now an island with a river on one side and a canal on the other cut in 1907. There are 3 nozels, 2 wagon wheel rings and lots of metal baclet's that I'm guessing made up a horse drawn wagon. Any ideas? Located near fenelon falls ontario canada.

    Thanks Mike

There's another digger on this site. I can't think of his name right now. I wonder if it's an old firefighting wagon since there are nozzles. Any marks on anything?

The large tapered cyl. thing is a "nave box". This is the iron sleeve that is pressed into the centre of a wooden hub. The inside probably has a recessed area for packing grease. 2 nave boxes = 2 wheels. What are the measurements of these & the iron band ?

Thanks guys. That's a little disappointing but mystery solved and I've learned something.

The large metal bands are close to 4 feet tall. I would have expected to find some wooden spindles or atleast some fragments but there is nothing. Those nave boxes are warped at the large end where I'm assuming they get pressed into the wheel. I wonder if this was caused by heat from a fire. I'll have to explore the area some more.

      Cheers. Mike
