This is really nice! Great find, but, please excuse my ignorance, what is a "boot" sale??? [;>)
In the UK Car boot sales are a national obsession. A car boot is what Amercians would call a trunk. so basically anything you can get in a boot or the car you take along to a car par, a field, school grounds or wherever there is a place to gather and sell your unwanted items. You are likely to find everything and anything in a boot sale. We don't have garage sales as such.
Flea Market here in the US. Where no fleas are intentionally sold...
Hmm, interesting. A car boot here in the States is a locking device that the police puts on an illegally parked car's tire, or on a car that the police wants to impound, so that the owner can't drive away with the car. Not even remotely close, are they, the British meaning and the American meaning. [;>)
Boot Sale, Flea market, Garage Sale, Tag Sale....all the same in a Sense
Great Piece. Who needs a Fireplace as it makes Just a Great Decor piece too !!

Thank you all. As for boot sales etc. There is a pecking order. First Jumble Sales, table top saleor fayre. Then Boot sale Flea market slightly up market. Then Auction then Antique fare. But you will find an antique in any of the above and I do on a regular basis.
