Now that I'm working and have access to all the beautiful things you can imagine. I've begun to look at pieces that I'd never find in the thrifts. The yellow Deco vase is very affordable. It's in the "tango" family I believe. The pink and blue melon vase is extraordinary ! It's not ID'd but I did see a red one just like it on Ruby Lanes's site. No ID with that one either. Steven's and Williams perhaps ?? Any thoughts? This pink and blue version is much nicer in my opinion. The Quezal lamp shade is off the charts expensive but it is a beauty. Too bad there's not a pair though. Lastly there's the old and I've posted the bulk of these piece on CW over the years. Now it's time for someone else to enjoy them. -Mike-
Congratulations! your bay at the antiques co-op looks professional and very tempting. Good luck!
A red version of the yellow vase appears in vol. II of the Truitt books, though not identified.
Thank you Sklo. :)....You should see the rest of this place it's huge ! As far as the vase goes...I've read that it's called a "rocket vase" and possibly Welz.
Thanks Thomas..not crazy about yellow but I do love this vase. The pink one with the clear cobalt glass neck reminds me of a pink sea urchin. :)
Thanks Ken but I haven't even scratched the surface of what I have so an estate sale could still be possible. I prefer the fresh uncluttered look to loading it up to the point where it becomes overwhelming. I replace things as they sell and rearrange a bit and it seems to work. I've been there a little over three weeks and I can't believe what I've sold already. I'll chalk it up to beginners luck an one good customer that loves my Asian stuff...lol. :)
Lovely photos.
Great display who evers it is lol
Flick the yellow my way if you don't want it.
And surely thats a pumpkin with a machetti smashing it....hey I'm on drugs that allow me to think like this!
Are these for sale? I'm confused? Or is this your display. I'd like to find out about the pink one... :)
Anne
Very nice display you have. Did you put a light in your cabinet top shelf ? It looks like it. I see a price tag on your cabinet drawer, don't you need this ?
Thanks Phil....Oh yes it now has an LED light strip, but the shelves are wood and I should replace them with glass to get the light though out. A lot of those tags also say "Sorry this item not for sale"...lol :)
Thanks Anne...yep those are pieces I'm considering buying or putting in layaway. Do you have an ID for the pink one?? It sure is a beautiful piece. :)
I like the uncluttered look too Mike even though at home I'm a clutterbug.
I recognise some of you pieces but you have had so many I can't remember them all!
Glad it's going well and a great idea for you to move bits on.
Thanks Karen....I know what you're talking about. Home is still cluttered too but now I have a bit of room to move and consolidate. Took years to get that way so it's not happening over night ...lol. It's liberating in a sense too. :)
Good luck Mikel. You know, I think that perhaps I could go on retirement in two years and I would like to do somethng similar. It is a pitty we are so far away if not sure I woul pick something from your shop.
Hello
Mike hope you doing well.
Is this like a community sale or similar.
I love the yellow one.
Regards
Alan
Hi Allen ...I'm good..It's kind of like an antique mall with 18 vendors we all take turns working the whole store along with having our booths. So that amounts to two days a month I have to be there. Not a bad gig...lol :)
What a good idea.
Thanks so much Kivatinitz...yes It would be so nice to have everyone here close so we could all meet each other. :)
Can I joint, so much stuff to sell, lol
Regards
Alan
That would be awesome Alan, but first you'd have to move to Ohio. I had been waiting 2 years for space to open . Usually the only way people leave is if they go to that great collectors cloud in the sky ...lol. :)
How I'd love to be part of such a community!
And hunt among your pieces!
Nice display, very neat and appealing :-)
Happy new seller's life, Mike!
Thanks so much Kyra. It's a bit of work to keep it that way but no pain no gain...lol :)
Your display is spectacular. So happy for you. :)
One good thing leads to another...;)
