About 6 months ago, I went to an collectables auction. There were paintings, crystal, furniture, etc. It was great. Well I purchased a couple of Onyx Bookends. They are beautiful. Well, when I got home and unpacked the bookends, this figurine was a the bottom of the box in the stacks of newspaper they had given me to wrap the bookends. Its approximately 8 inches tall, its really light, I know its wood and from I can tell its hand painted, although the painting and the carving is excellent and really detailed. at first I thought it might be something store bought but I don't think so, the detail is really great but you can tell its hand painted. I researched and I am pretty sure its either German or Dutch. Can anyone give me more info on what I have here. Like who might be the artist or where it might come from?
My guess is Bavarian.
