Damascus etched means fake Damascus I think. Thought this would look good in my curio table but I have been carrying it about as it is fun to play with, or with which as I do not want to end a sentence with a preposition.
Push on the knobs on the end and the blade will pop right out. It has to be done just right such that the blade will lock into place. Takes a bit of practice. If not done right the blade will not lock into place and there is a danger of being cut.
Someday I would like to get an actual Damascus blade.

You may know already, so for whatever it's worth, the blade tension can be adjusted by either tightening or loosening the swivel screw that attaches the blade to the handle by using a precision torque screwdriver. With the correct tension, even a novice should be able to easily operate the knife so that the blade easily opens with a light press of the flipper. The blade should open with enough force and speed that it locks into place every time with a fairly loud and distinct click. Anyway, Fort, you have a nice spring-assisted knife. [;>)

Love switchblades, but our mommy government says they are illegal in Canada.

Are you sure it isn't genuine damascus? Can you see a pattern on the back part (non sharp) of the blade ? If yes, it is forged damascus :-)

Thank you very much NevadaBlades. Seems to be working fine as long as I keep my fingers out of the way.

Thank you very much catburglar. This isn't exactly a switchblade which is why it is legal here.

Thank you very much kyratango. Sadly it appears there is no pattern on that side of the blade.
