    Not sure how to date this...there was a tag that says it was reupholster in 1936 leaving the stuffing undisturbed.it is all horse hair, no straw.but show a lot of nail holes...
    Serial number is 6153

      I'd have a look at the term: Aesthetic Movement Chair.

      William and Mary is too early for this type of decoration though I understand how the support structure might lead you there.

      It looks like Salem made furniture from that period but I don't think it is that old...also the ticket said it was reupholster for Mrs R. Debo by Phinney upholstery.
      I love it too! I will wash the horsehair and retightned the joints.
