I found this interesting doll in the attic of a home i purchased. It is hand carved with in laid eyes. I am unsure of the religious figure but the clothes albeit in bad condition are very detailed. The carving that is showing is intricate like the face and fingers. Under the robe is a basic uncarved piece of wood. If any one knows anything about this to help me identify origin or figure out the worth i would greatly appreciate it as it is a cool piece.
This is a creche figure of baby Jesus . What a wonderful find
Looks like perhaps Italy made . Would love to see part of body and the base better . This is a great piece with a very good value !!
It is the Infant of Prague.
It's not a doll, but an Icon or a Santo (Santos). Wood and covered with Gesso. Could be Italian, Spanish or Latin American.

I added a pic of the body under the clothes as my profile pic. If anyone has any idea of which century this is from our can find one like it i would appreciate it.
Wow. It's pretty amazing. I would imagine too that it would be worth quite a bit.
Hi Dthurmon. If you want to add more pictures, you can post a second posting with more pictures. In your title, you can put 1 of 2; 2 of 2, etc. Also - you can post in two categories. Add the religious category. Someone who specializes in religious collectibles may have more info.
Try to reorient your pictures to show properly, you may have to do it on your puter. (Try a neutral background, not back lit unless you use a fill in flash) Describe everything you can as if you are talking to a blind person, or you have no pics. What is his Crown made of? BE CAREFUL of the clothes!! - they are original and I can tell they are insect damaged and appear quite fragile.
That's a Santo Nino Jesus (Holy Infant Jesus). Looks like it was made in Spain. How tall is it? It is suppose to have an orb on the left hand. Too bad the clothes are not original to the piece. I am interested with it. Let me know if you want to dispose of it.
i think that this is actually from the Phillipines. The halo is definitely the way they are made there, and the face is similar to some i've seen too. beautiful!
