Walked into the salvation army one day and seen a box sitting on the counter with this in it, they hadn't even priced it yet. Not only did they have this awesome projector in it, but all the accessories that go along with it, 2 extra belts, extra lamps, oil, manual, empty reels, splicer, registration card, and a bunch of home movies that I haven't watch yet. A real bargain for only $15 bucks. Looks great in my office as a display piece!

Just got one myself...without a manual. Sure would love to know how to thread it to watch the old family movies. Can you help me out here? Thanks in advance.

Hey Rud, don't worry about Pops, he feels sorry for everyone, he has a lot of built up remorse. Send me your email and I will send you copies of how to thread the film.

I just bought one and not sure how to thread it...plus, when I fire it up, the bulb emits smoke after a bit. Is that normal?
I also have 1 "spring" that is large for running it (beside the main belt) and no lense.
Is there a place that sells parts for these? also....how is the spring (or springs) routed on it?

I too have a Keystone R-8 along with the oil. It's my dad's and I'm trying to convert some old movies to video before the surprise party we are having for his 80th birthday in a few weeks. Can you tell me how to thread this beast and where to put the oil (& how much). Thanks.
