Walked into the salvation army one day and seen a box sitting on the counter with this in it, they hadn't even priced it yet. Not only did they have this awesome projector in it, but all the accessories that go along with it, 2 extra belts, extra lamps, oil, manual, empty reels, splicer, registration card, and a bunch of home movies that I haven't watch yet. A real bargain for only $15 bucks. Looks great in my office as a display piece!
Nice find!
Thanks officialfuel.
Thanks MooreAntique.
You have to let us know if any thing interesting is on that film:) Awesome find!
Thanks trukn20 and mark.
Thanks vintagemad, I'm afraid to watch those home movies, might find something I'd rather not see. Lol
Just got one myself...without a manual. Sure would love to know how to thread it to watch the old family movies. Can you help me out here? Thanks in advance.
RuD...........I feel sorry for you !
Hey Rud, don't worry about Pops, he feels sorry for everyone, he has a lot of built up remorse. Send me your email and I will send you copies of how to thread the film.
O.K. Maybe I did do RuD wrong,,,,,,,,these are not that hard to figure out, in fact the trail is laid out on the side, sorry RuD, I went off on you for no reason !
nice. Interested in selling it? email me at Jack4RE@aol.com Thanks
Thanks Jack, but everything on this site is for show and tell only. You can probably fine one on ebay.
Just Bought one Myself A Few Weeks Ago For 5 Bucks. Bulb Is Burned Out But Everything else seems to be working. You can Check It out under my name.
Thanks junkmanjoe, I definitley will check out! Sounds like you got a bargain!
I just bought one and not sure how to thread it...plus, when I fire it up, the bulb emits smoke after a bit. Is that normal?
I also have 1 "spring" that is large for running it (beside the main belt) and no lense.
Is there a place that sells parts for these? also....how is the spring (or springs) routed on it?
I too have a Keystone R-8 along with the oil. It's my dad's and I'm trying to convert some old movies to video before the surprise party we are having for his 80th birthday in a few weeks. Can you tell me how to thread this beast and where to put the oil (& how much). Thanks.
I'm also looking for instructions on how to thread the film. I would LOVE any help!!!
