    Hi!
My dad has recently passed away and while going through his things I found this strange old key!
He wasn't one to keep any junk or unwanted items so it must have meant something to him.
Can anyone give me an idea of what this key may have opened or where it came from?

This size & style key is usually referred to as a "cabinet key." It opened a cabinet, desk lid or drawer, as opposed to a padlock or house door. Most of the cuts on the flag don't do anything; they're just for show. It's more to keep out children and casual prying eyes than for real security.
