Like my last post, most of these are of Hitler and from Salem's Cigarettes (I think) in 1930s Germany.
The final is from Sturm (?) and mentions the SS, SA, and HJ(?) on the back.

I also picked these up with a stamp collection of Nazi Germany/Occupied Territory stamps at an estate sale. There are a few more cards that I'll not post.

Notice the huge gun in photo two.

Cigarette cards with him on them would probably make him soil his pants ! "Uncle Adolph" hated smoking & alcohol. Of course he bent a bit for drugs toward the end, but we have to remember that he was under a little pressure ! HJ is the Youth Corp..

      Better put: Hitler Youth.

True, Adolph banned smoking in Germany, and after The War, perhaps as a reaction to this, and continuing up contemporary times, Germany has had a really high volume of tobacco use!

Who knows if Hitler's tobacco ban extended to his fighting forces or not, but often in the war time pictures, both privately photographed, as well as propaganda material, often the guys are seen smoking.

Good point Ted. I never really thought about it, but there are a high % of pix of soldiers smoking. Of course most of those soldiers were not in Germany, but bringing peace & tranquility to countries where smoking wasn't banned. In my experience, the French are higher users .

Some time go I say these same cards at a antique market. If I had my chance again I would have gotten them but was unsure if they were real. Do you know what brand they are?

I thought salem cigarettes came out in the fifties. Or is this a different company?
    9. SpiritBear, 9 years ago
Ted, LOL, and thank you for commenting.

Caper, I think Salem for America and Salem for Germany were different companies. There's another company mixed into the lot as well.
