      It's from the 1870s. Post 1875 as the American flag and George Washington theme on its cover would have likely come out for a celebration of our centennial since declaring independence.
      The publisher removed the ampersand (&) from their name in 1885.

      Wow! As it happens, this is the exact same book my wife bought over 40 years ago in a bookshop in Erie, PA! It was one of the first 'antique' things she ever bought! She still uses it for her in-home display for back-to-school.... Beautiful colors!
