The snow has melted. The days are warming. It's time to get picking. Found this item recently and as usual I'm completely dumbfounded. Green uranium glass with a frosted pattern and a bonus pressed pattern around the bottom. What a unique item! It appears to be an ice bucket, missing its handle. It is 5" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter, which seems kind of small to me for an ice bucket. I would love to know the manufacturer and a more precise age. I haven't been able to find anything remotely like this in my web searches. I picked this up at a garage sale for a couple of bucks. So happy.
Edit* Thanks Lou for the identification!
Made by Fenton Art Glass in the 1930's. It's actually their Macaroon Jar with lid in the Ming pattern. RER
I would never have suspected it was Fenton. Thanks Lou!
it very beautiful color and design !! its like an ICE GREEN COLOR!!
Thanks Sean. Yes, beautiful. Love the design. I've never seen this pattern before and I'm very excited to own it.
ive never seen this before either and so glad you have shared it with us!!!
very nice little macaroon jar! seems the wicker handles often are broken and missing. Fenton's 'Ming' etch was used on various patterns including this #1684 Macaroon Jar which had no official pattern name; also other etches can be found on the #1684 pattern. Fenton used the same form to create baskets as well.
Thanks for the kind words and information TallCakes. Always appreciate your knowledge.
Beautiful color:)
