This is an antique Japanese/Asian Jewelry Chest. Six inches tall. Beautiful wood and possibly jade decor with brass fittings. Probably purchased in Japan in the 1950's or early 1960's. Don't really know anything about it, Mom was a collector of cool stuff where ever we lived.
Beautiful chest.
It could possibly be soap stone .Our hard stone maybe.very nice piece.
