(100 items)
Light blue frilled neck bowl/vase in Tango style circa 1920, Bohemian maker I would suggest. Sits nicely with my other blue Tango items. I'm now moving firmly in to buying other items around the original blue trumpet vase that I purchased 2 years ago, the one that kicked off my collection. I didn't think for one minute that I would then own over 100 Tango items.
Looking forward to now buying other rare items in different styles and colours. I'm not big on the transfer print Tango ware, even though some of these can hold high prices, I'd still prefer to collect items that I like rather than of huge value.
I agree regarding the vast majority of enamelled tango ware as well - although I have found one or two that were interesting or unusual enough to pique my interest. I much prefer the uncomplicated look of plain block colours. Happy number 100 and something!
I agree Anne - I love the ones without enamelling too. You get to really see the shapes and the contrast of the gorgeous colours with black. They still seem so modern!
Hi Ian and Karen. Thanks for the comments. I guess I see the process of enamelling as applied art rather than enamelling. Mainly because the work is placed on the outside rather than through a wire.
a shelf packed full of beautiful color and shape!!
the shelves are so deep now, there has to be at least 200 tango items. We've packed up some whilst the house is on the market....
I buy Tango and buy more :)
I'm glad you sell Tango!
I thoroughly commend anyone to you for your collection as an important piece of work that really needs to be documented....
Where's that book that lady was to do on Tango. Maybe that should be a rush job for you Alfredo.
Take all he photos you can, we will contribute our photos and put it out as a coffee table item. Somewhere between a Judith Miller and work by Stephen Parish. What say you???
