      Looks to be hand forged by a skilled blacksmith. It is probably a one of a kind, made for someones specific needs. It sits too low for fireplace use, so I would guess it was made for camp/trail cooking.

      Yeah Dave, I'm with you, might I also add that I think the grill part has been bent down somewhat and should be actually flat to hold a pot or pan.........like the twisted handle to act as a 'heat sink'...........great thing.

      When I was a kid they had these grills at the park. Placed here and there were these small stone grills. Just long rectangle stone things nothing special. They had a lip for the grill. This is what that reminds me of.
