Of all of the treasures I found today, this was a splurge, partially because I rarely see this cut of rhinestone and also because it was a set in very good condition, no makers marks, though. This set came in with a Juliana set, Weiss, Kramer, old Trifari, Musibows.... so I am guessing D & E? I will research more later.
The necklace measures about 17 3/4" and has a faux knot and has 2 marquise cut rhinestones at the end of each strand. The clasp is a simple hook adorned with a rhinestone.
The brooch is a bow with the ends that repeat the design of the necklace. It measures 2" x 2".
The earrings are clips and they have a marquis at the top and repeat the design of the brooch and necklace. They measure 1 1/2" in length.
The rectangular stones measure .5 cm x .3 cm sorry for mixing measurement standards, but metric was more accurate for the stones. There are a lot of them!
The set is sleek, I was thinking art deco, please correct me if I'm wrong. I truly appreciate any help as I am learning about costume jewelry.
Not Art Deco: 50s sounds right. More research will be needed to ID the maker; it was a popular design. Look into Weiss to start with but look closely at the weight quality of the stones and the setting, "lesser" makers produced those, too; it's hard to tell from the photos.
Thanks Davyd286, the set had a good feel and is nicely made-- I'm getting pickier when it comes to jewelry. I will research Weiss, that was my inclination since there was a lot of Weiss and D&E in the lot.
