A friend of mine would like me to find info on his little Williamson derringer. It is a crossover that fires a 41 caliber rimfire cartridge or can be loaded with loose powder, cap and ball using a separate, heavy duty, reusable shell casing. His has a very low serial number of 73. He would like to know how much it is worth.

It says this listing has been sold. I would have to think this is a good indication of what the value is.
Thanks James, Sorry to get back to you so late. I checked the link. The picture was no longer there but the selling price was. I'll tell my friend.
Flayderman urges "extreme caution" as the "majority of the chambers are probably of modern manufacture".
This is one to examine closely before assigning a valuation.

Thanks for the info scottvez, My friend does not have a cartridge for it and would not be interested in shooting it if he did find one. He has looked on the internet for comparable williamson derringers but has found none exactly the same as his or nearly as low a ser.no. I think he told me that Colt bought the company.
I didn't look at the auction description but it probably represents an example with the separate chamber. Those without the chamber are significantly lower in value.

I really should take some better pictures of this little gun. when I took these picts all I had with me was the camera on my phone.
