    Picked this up today at an auction. It is our second humpback trunk. The paper label states 1861, but we don't know if that is the year of it or not. Does anyone have any information on it that would help us out?

      That is an excellent trunk. Love all the inserts on it plus the label. Looks like it is leather wrapped. Sorry I have no clue as to date 1861 sounds good to me.
      Hope you do not plan on painting it or some such thing.
