So the first is a round covered jar, 6" if you include the acorn handle lid. No marks. It was the color I found irresistible, sort of that vintage turquoise blue with a touch of brown. And the other is a small jug or pitcher with multi-colored stripes, 6". This one looks contemporary to me, no marks. The shape and decor appealed to me. Found them on a weekend scrounge. Not sure what category to put these in as they aren't art pottery, but we'll start there and CW will have the last word. Hope you like seeing these, and thanks for looking.

Like both but especially the brown pitcher ~ I can picture an old, rustic farm kitchen....... [;>)

What a very appealing lidded jar. I don't know which is prettier, the glaze or the acorns!

I love the lidded jar - everything is right about it.
The jug is sneakier; it requires more looking to see the appeal, but it's definitely got lots. Great glaze, cool handle, perfect shape, nice spout.

Thanks, NB, yes these do have a cozy down-home feel to them, don't they? :)

Thanks, Thomas, yes the color is eye-catching! :)

Thanks, Ken, the jar is very pretty, isn't it? Well, I think of art pottery as thrown on a wheel, whereas these are from a mold, I think, so more production than otherwise? I don't know, maybe could go either way. :)

Thanks, sklo, the glaze and shape grabbed me then I noticed the decor, all combined make a very appealing jar. :)

Thanks, Karen, yes, the jar is the more appealing at first, the jug perhaps takes more time to appreciate. I knew immediately the jar would go home with me, the jar I puzzled over and set down then picked it up puzzled some more and finally decided it was a keeper, and when I gave it a good looking over at home felt very good about it. :)
